Both new smartphones are in the inexpensive market segment. As the name suggests, the Realme 8 5G supports the fast 5G network standard. This is made possible by the built-in Dimensity 700 SoC from Mediatek. The LC display is 6.5 inches and has a frame rate of 90 Hz; the manufacturer did not specify the resolution in the data sheet.

A triple camera is installed on the back, the main camera of which has 48 megapixels. It is supported by a black and white camera and a macro camera - this is where you can see where Realme is saving on the 8 5G.

Big battery and Android 11

The battery has a nominal charge of 5,000 mAh and can be charged with 18 watts. The Realme 8 5G is delivered with Android 11 and the Realme UI 2.0 user interface.

The Realme 8 Pro doesn't support 5G, but it has better hardware. The Super AMOLED display is 6.4 inches and should offer a maximum brightness of 1,000 cd / m2. Inside the smartphone is a Helio G95 from Mediatek.

A quadruple camera is installed on the back, the main camera of which has 64 megapixels. It is supported by a super wide-angle camera with 8 megapixels as well as a macro and a depth camera. The front camera, like that of the Realme 8 5G, has a resolution of 16 megapixels.

The battery has a nominal charge of 5,000 mAh and can be quickly charged with 30 watts. According to Realme, it should be fully charged from 0 to 100 percent in 65 minutes. The fingerprint sensor is built into the display. The smartphone is delivered with Android 11 and the Realme UI 2.0 user interface.

Both models are available from 200 euros

Both the Realme 8 and the 8 5G will appear in Germany in two memory configurations. The smartphones will be available with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of flash memory as well as with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory. The variant with 8 GB of RAM will not go on sale in Germany. Both models will be available from May 12, 2021 from 200 euros.
