Homemade bounty with dark chocolate

It's one of my favorite candies, Bounty! When I found out that homemade bounties can be made super fast and with little effort, I immediately tried them at home. Are you curious too? Here is a very simple recipe for Homemade Bounty with Dark Chocolate!

Do you prefer dark chocolate? Or do you prefer milk chocolate? Do you like when the glaze is thick? With homemade bounty, you can customize your bounty according to your taste. If you have the opportunity, use high-quality ingredients such as chocolate for an even more intense taste!

The recipe of Homemade Bounty with Dark Chocolate

As promised, it's a very simple recipe: you only need 4 ingredients. With the following amounts you can realize about 18 bounties.

  • 400 g sweetened condensed milk
  • 230 g desiccated coconut
  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or other neutral oil

Preparation of the coconut filling

Step 1: the coconut filling

Mix the sweetened condensed milk and desiccated coconut in a bowl.

Step 2: shape the bounty

First form a small ball with your hands, then give it an elongated shape. The coconut bars must be approx. 3 cm wide, 6 cm long and 2 cm thick.

Put some oil on your hands to prevent the coconut mixture from sticking too much to your fingers.


Place the coconut bars on parchment paper and let them sit in the freezer for 1 hour to 1 hour.

Preparation of the chocolate icing

Step 3: the chocolate icing

For chocolate icing, melt dark chocolate and coconut oil in the microwave or in a double boiler.

Step 4: the coating

Take the coconut bars out of the freezer. Dip them in the melted chocolate. Then put them back on the parchment paper. Let cool in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

Step 5: the decoration

Decorate the bounty bars with the rest of the melted chocolate (optional). Put them in a cool place for another hour.

You should store this bounty in a sealed container in the refrigerator. Enjoy them within 7 days.
